I DO NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS, CAN TRUTH LABS EXPERTS GIVE OPINION ON PHOTOCOPIED DOCUMENTS?

To ensure thorough and comprehensive forensic examination for a legally valid report, it is preferred to have the originals of all possible questioned as well as standard documents.
Alternatively clear good quality duly certified reproduction copies or colour scanned copies of the documents in PDF, JPG, or TIF formats can also be utilised for forensic document examination. There are limitations to examinations involving photocopies and the quality of the copy is a significant factor but forensic handwriting examinations can often be performed using photocopies.
Truth Labs has been able to furnish conclusive opinions in many a cases based on examination of photocopies only. However, it is always recommended to make every effort to obtain originals during the course of litigation as the original documents offer objective assessment with respect to examination of ink and paper used which helps in determining the origin of document.
A preliminary assessment by a document expert on suitability and sufficiency of material at hand can be undertaken based on scanned copies of all the documents, if shared through email.
